Friday Finds

I can hardly believe it's August already! After we returned from our Montana trip last week my husband and I spent four days house sitting for our daughter, so I'm still playing catch-up on chores around my own house. Today, however, I have two coveted 25% off entire purchase coupons for Michael's and J0Ann's Craft Stores, so you can guess where I'll be spending my afternoon!

Shabby Cottage Studio
Speaking of craft supplies, when I left a comment recently on Shabby Cottage Studio's Where Blogger's Create post complementing Gail on her fabulous studio and stash of craft supplies, I didn't realize I was entering a giveaway. Imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to receive Gail's email a few days later telling me I'd won something!

Gail is an artist who creates beautiful digital artwork and collages like the one in the inset above. Yesterday, I received a sweet little package in the mail of vintage lace, trim, buttons and hand printed fabric ribbon from Gail's studio. Thanks so much, Gail! I can't wait to create something wonderful with my new goodies.  Hop on over to Shabby Cottage Studio to see more of Gail's art and her gorgeous studio.

Now, on to Friday Finds!

Little French Can-Can
One of my favorite projects last year was my Little French Can-Can tutorial for transferring graphics onto metal.

Knot Too Shabby
Last week I came across the granddaddy of all image transfers over at Knot Too Shabby. Partners Michele and Michelle painted and transferred this image onto a large metal cabinet. It's so cool! By the way, ladies, hats-off to you for bargaining that cabinet down to $10, because I'm pretty sure it's the same one for which I recently paid hundreds brand new!

Cottage Instincts
Cindy at Cottage Instincts stripped and stained this beautiful dresser. I like the way the numbers give an interesting vintage look to an otherwise plain modern silhouette.

Shabby Creek Cottage
Janel from NellieBellie shared her paint strip rug tutorial in a guest post at The Shabby Creek Cottage. You simply must go see how easy this fun project is!

Finding Home
Over at Finding Home Laura showed us how she made her fabulous desks out of vintage doors. My (galvanized metal-loving) eye was captured by this craft caddy in the corner.

Four Generations One Roof
I'd love to have the pretty softness of curtains ruffled by the breeze hanging on my front porch. Jessica at Four Generations One Roof has a great tutorial for making inexpensive outdoor curtain rods out of galvanized pipe and fittings.

Living Locurto
Amy at Living Locurto gave her children some pretty jars for preserving their vacation memories. I love the sea shells glued on the lids and the twine tied name tags.

BHG
These days most of my recipes are printed from the internet or found in my cookbooks, but the oldest and most treasured family recipes are still on handwritten recipe cards. Isn't this a great idea from Better Homes and Garden for displaying them using a vintage fork and bottle?

Nutritionist in the Kitch
I'm loving the abundance of fresh organic zucchini this time of year. Christal from Nutritionist in the Kitch shares her recipe for these oven baked, parmesan crusted zucchini chips. If that's not enough to make you love zucchini, 20 of these chips have only 60 calories. Sold!

Well, I'm off to the craft stores now, coupons in-hand. I'm not taking a list, just browsing around to see what looks good. But, really, I don't think I've ever seen a craft supply I didn't like! Have you?

Thanks so much for dropping by today and for hanging in there with me during my lazy days of summer. I hope you're enjoying a few of those, too!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
