Today I'm so pleased to be participating in the Where Bloggers Create blog tour hosted by the wonderful Karen over at My Desert Cottage.
MY DESERT COTTAGE |
My craft room is my favorite room in our house. I planned it carefully for months before creating it from a spare bedroom. It's my own personal space; a little room full of my work in-progress, arts and craft supplies, and little bits and pieces I've collected over the years just for me. It has a long L-shaped work table made from two solid core doors supported by an old desk cut in-two along with an old spray painted filing cabinet. There are two steel storage cabinets and a closet outfitted with shelves. A little sewing table sits just inside the door. Underfoot is painted sub-flooring. During a project my craft room can look like a tornado has touched down in there, but with all the storage and a place for everything, I'm able to put things straight in no time.
I hope you enjoy this tour of my creative space!

I think this is the best craft room ever. You have all the things you love in that room. Lots of good ideas, I do have that IKEA tray.
ReplyDeleteHi Laurel,
ReplyDeleteWow, your creative space is amazing! So bright and airy and filled with many lovely items. I noticed on your desk you have a pretty white cabinet with images of scissors. Is that a repurposed jewelry box? It really caught my eye! I like your use of the steel cabinets. Thank you for sharing your space with us and for the inspiration.
oh my gosh! so neat and organized, how do you find anything? just joking. Love the idea of putting the stains and paints etc., together in clear bins. I'm going to steal that right away (as soon as I find them). Thanks for all the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOh my...................Love, Love, Love the room!! I could move right in there and not have to change one thing----thank you---I am sooooo inspired!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would so love getting creative in your room! So many lovely images, I had to scroll up and down several times!
ReplyDeleteWow Laurel, your craft room is even more amazing than I remembered! It has so many pretty details to enjoy and inspire, but it is totally functionally at the same time. It is clear that you thoughtfully planned a space for everything you need. You have so much storage. And I love that generous table space to really spread out. You have created a wonderful space to create!
ReplyDeleteHi Laurel!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a lovely space! Love to see your photographs...such beauty! You did a great job in there!
I love the L shaped door/tables too. I did the door for a table top too, but not into an L shape.....hmmmmm,
must put that idea in my brain for the future!!!
Thanks so much for sharing your pretty space for the party!!
Blessings,
Doni
Hi, neighbor! thanks for the tour of your beautiful play room. I love that you have the separate bin for your BSU goodies ~

ReplyDeleteYour craft room is worthy of a magazine! Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteLaurel your studio is just lovely. I know what you mean about it being your favorite space in the house. Sometimes I go into mine just to sit and watch tv!! It's nice to be surrounded by things that you love. :) Thanks so much for joining the party!!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely space, So organized! I love it! I am getting there! Some things are super organized in my space - some well, I would be embarrassed to open the cabinet in front of someone! LOL One day I will get it all right!
ReplyDeleteThis is just a wonderful space! It must bring you so much joy! I especially love the botanical touches and the way you have styled that beautiful little wall shelf!
ReplyDeleteWow Laurel, what a lovely and organized room... adore your chippy wood & wreath piece. You have so much great natural light coming in, it must be wonderful to be in there and create. What a great idea to make a desk out of those doors; they look fab!
ReplyDeleteGreat space. Did you say you cut a desk in half? Cool idea. I love repurposing things in my space. Looks like you do too. Love how everything is labeled. I want a label maker! thanks for sharing your space! My little space Is linked too.
ReplyDeleteCome by and see me!
What a bright and organized space you have - thank you for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful space! So restful. I have to say I really LOVE that rug!
ReplyDeleteI love it, Laurel! You know what jogged my memory of you sharing this space - the little wood piece with the scissor images. : ) I love the shelf you have in view as soon as you come in your door. Such a great area to have some pretties on display. Great idea to keep your faux florals in a bucket. I tend to shove mine wherever I can find room. I should see if I can't find something to store them in to make them part of the décor while they are waiting for a project. I love the nice big work top you have to do projects on. I see you like clear storage, too. It just makes it easier to find things, don't you think? Thanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tour of your wonderful space!
ReplyDeleteHi Laurel, what a beautiful space! Love the light and airy feeling.

Your space is simply wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI think every studio I have visited today, including mine, has the little IKEA 3 tiered cart, but yours is the only one I have seen in white.
I was flattered to notice the little wire wreath I sent you hanging on your board.

Hi Laurel, your space is wonderful and worthy of a magazine spread. Love the great storage solutions and all the organization. Such great light in your room too. Thank you for the tour. Have fun at the party!
ReplyDeleteThat big L-shaped desk is perfection! Thank you for sharing your creative space.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful studio Laurel! I especially love the set of black drawers under your desk. I noticed the Martha Stewart glitters, aren't they just divine to use. Thanks for sharing your lovely studio. Karen.x
ReplyDeleteYes, I did enjoy touring your creative space. The long desktops must be wonderful to be able to spread out projects, especially any sewing projects.
ReplyDeleteJudith
I don't think I've seen your craft room before Laurel, this is simply perfect! now I know where you shell out all your creative juices at!
ReplyDeleteLaurel,
ReplyDeleteYour craft room is amazing! Love all the tiny attention to details. I will be "borrowing" your idea of the wooden mug holder for scissors, genius! Thank you for sharing your truly lovely space.
LOVE your room! I love all the little touches and that desk--wowza! Your room is so well organized. TFS!
ReplyDeleteWOW... I love love your studio... It is filled with ALL sorts of organised treasures.. Everything is displayed so beautiful..The seed packet garland is adorable... Thanks for sharing your AWESOME studio.
ReplyDeleteWow! I loved looking around your AMAZING creative loft! But, I have to admit, I could have spent the whole tour just looking and drooling over your amazing and beautiful rug! Aren't you afraid of spilling stuff on it? My floors are always littered with debris! So you are truly an inspiration! Hope you'll visit my studio soon! Sweet Blessings, Chris
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful work space. You planned and implemented it well! I would love to create in there!
ReplyDeleteReally nice work space, you have really good storage and work surfaces and I really like how you display things.
ReplyDeleteSo many little goodies throughout the space, and I like the idea of how you store your tools (all so easy to find).... I might have to steal that idea : ) as I always get lost in my baskets looking for specific tools. And the one thing that made me laugh, is the very simple storage thing you have in there, is the one for your glasses... I have no idea how many I have lost in my space, so yes, I might have to steal that idea too! Thanks for sharing, it was lovely to see!
Laurel, your craft room has always been an inspiration for me. Love, love your work space. Just beautifully decorated and so organized!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful studio! I love all the organization!

Popped over here from BNOTP and have been admiring your studio space! (I have the same green ceremic birds!) I used to live in the North End of Boise, 8th and Lemp, in a six-plex apartment. Our oldest some was born at St. Luke's in 1977 and we brought him home to that location, too. We moved away long ago but that same son just welcomed his first baby boy yesterday. If our boys and grandchildren weren't here in WA, we would retire to Boise. Fun to find your blog :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Laurel. I saw your post on Facebook and thought I would stop in and say hello. I just love your craft room and hope to have a room like that one day. Wish we lived closer! :) The garden is doing great. We're eating green beans, crookneck squash, and zucchini almost every day now. Can't wait for the tomatoes to grow big enough. Hope you're having a great summer. ~ Jamie
ReplyDeleteHi Laurel, visiting from Karen's party. Beautiful space and very well organized. I love the numbered cabinets and the little one with the scissor graphic!

ReplyDeleteI love the natural light you have in your studio! Brightens the whole room and makes it so welcoming! And organized?! You've got that going on! Love! Thanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteGreat craft room, Laurel. The work table is fantastic. Such a clever idea to cut up an old desk for the end pieces. You have lots of good storage and everything is organized well. On top of all that it's a very pretty space, too, with lots of "Laurel" decorative touches. I'd work there in a heart beat. Thanks for sharing at Karen's party. xxx ~ Nancy
