Merry Christmas!

Hello Friends!

I didn't think I'd have time for decoration photos this Christmas, but I grabbed my camera while waiting for our Christmas Eve dinner baking in the oven tonight. And here we go!

If it all looks familiar, it's because I don't add to our decorations anymore - I just rotate and move them around.

I do get more Christmas tree ornaments, though, and this year I made some super easy dried orange slice ornaments. I love the way the light shines through them.

Can you spot a few things I put out for our three year-old grandson? He loves the electric train winding around the Christmas tree, the red truck, and the reindeer family.

Happy Holidays to you all!

Sweater Weather

 Happy Fall!

Last spring we gave our old home a new look.

With a black iron fence around the front yard.

I wanted to celebrate our sweater weather on my blog today and remembered I hadn't shared our new fence.

So, our new fence and our fall trees are here today to help me say

Happy Fall!

We planted these maple trees the year my youngest daughter was born, and this year she turned 31!

And while I'm here...

I'll wish you a Happy Halloween!

A Tiny Cabin Christmas

Happy Holidays and welcome to our tiny cabin!

Today, I'm bringing you some snowy cheer and sharing our holiday decor.

Our downtown McCall holiday tree.

We bought our inexpensive little fake tree and some shiny ornaments a few years ago at our local drugstore. It's become a tradition for us to only use these decorations here because they don't take up much room and they fit snugly in one cardboard box for storage in our tiny cabin shed.

And, somehow, they just seem to be suitable for our little 1950's retro cabin!

Our primitive hand carved bear bookends are from a local antique shop.

Last summer we made a mantle for our fireplace. We love the coziness!

I sewed our red flannel reindeer pillows with handmade pom poms years and years ago. They seemed to fit right in at our little cabin.

We look forward to making our bed with these snuggly Pottery Barn sheets from a few years ago each winter when it snows.

This cute bear block print is a treasured gift made by my daughter when she was in college.

We're so glad you came to visit today, and we hope the rest of your winter is cozy and warm!

Christmas at our Place

Hello All!

We hope you're having a wonderful holiday season.
Ours is extra special this year, as we have recently welcomed our first grandchild into our lives. His precious presence added an extra sparkle to our family's Christmas.

Here are some of our decorations this year. Perhaps next Christmas I'll be creating a little village for my grandson to play with!

We hope your new year is filled with sparkle and happiness!

Our Traditional Cottage Christmas

Welcome to our Christmas cottage!

If you've visited our Christmas home tours from previous years, you may recognize many of our old favorite decorations. Each year we add a few new seasonal items, but mostly we love finding new ways to display the old things we remember so fondly from our Christmases gone by.

I want to give a special thank you to my husband who helped me so much this year with our decorating as I hobbled around recuperating from my recent hip replacement surgery last month. He even trimmed our entire Christmas tree himself! Thank you, honey, it wouldn't be Christmas without you!

I hope you enjoy seeing what we've done around our little cottage this year!

We're so glad you stopped by today and hope you enjoyed our holiday cottage!

Merry Christmas!
