(better late than never!)
I ran around the house snapping some
photos of my holiday decorations today.
So if you're still feeling
some holiday cheer,
c'mon along on my tour
as I record my 2012 decorations
just in time before taking them down
and packing them all away!
At my house the Christmas tree is tucked in a corner
just inside the front door on one side of the living room where we open gifts on Christmas morning. In the other corner by the dining room, sits my old hutch.
Once my mother's, this old maple hutch was the first piece
of furniture I painted.
I love decorating it for any holiday.
The dining room table (which matches the hutch) has four extension leaves to hold all our family and holiday guests.
We sit here in the dining room for hours and hours enjoying huge meals, good conversation, and laughter way into the candlelit night.
Ten people can sit comfortably around this old table,
and twelve can squish.
My chalkboard art was inspired by a sign I saw
on Pinterest made by Barn Owl Primitives.
Just a few decorations in the kitchen.
My piggy chalkboard reminded me to keep my holiday cool when things got busy.
Next up, the family room.
I moved two front porch chairs in here to seat our big
holiday crowd while we watched Home Alone on Christmas Eve.
I dressed them up with some flannel and felt reindeer pillow covers I sewed.
My father's snowshoes hang high on the wall over the doors to the backyard.
Whitewashed shutters stand-in for a fireplace.
A reindeer family just like ours!
Outside received a sprinkling of decorations, too.
Our wishes for snow were granted, and there's a light dusting covering the yard.
Thank you for visiting my (late) Christmas post!
I hope your holidays were wonderful.
And that the New Year brings you good health, happiness, and prosperity.
